"The Finger" Tee (Limited Edition)
Last year I asked Singapore’s pioneer conceptual artist Cheo Chai-Hiang what is the biggest cause of a weak local art scene? He paused. And replied, “Self Censorship.”
We went quiet a little. I think the answer surprised me.
It wasn’t the unappreciative, materialistic public, it wasn’t the lack of struggles and history, it wasn’t even the nanny state free speech restrictions that are holding us back. It’s us. We are so conditioned to not overstep the line, we don’t know how.
This “finger” t shirt is an expression of that idea. Designed by Kim JiHyun and yours truly. A very limited edition. Now on sale at our shop. And online on March 11.
